2 November 2010. Leesburg, Virginia. MTN Communications Services's Jim Ramsey, President of MTN Goverment Services leads major effort leads government services. Jim is a military veteran with more than 35 years of communications and leadership experience. Jim served at the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) as a Presidential Communications Officer for both President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush. He was responsible for planning, installing and maintaining communications requirements for over 1,000 presidential trips, commanded four units, and ended his tour as the Operations Officer. Jim was inducted into the WHCA Hall of Fame in 2005.

Liberty Dialysis News

Liberty to merge with Renal Advantage. 4 November 2010, Nashville, TN. Brentwood-based Renal Advantage Inc. is merging with like-sized Washington-based competitor Liberty Dialysis LLC to form the No. 3 dialysis provider in the country. Brentwood-based Renal Advantage, which operates 149 dialysis centers and one laboratory, had about $504 million in revenue for the 12 months ended Sept. 30, according to Moody’s. Under the deal, Renal Advantage and Liberty will operate as separate sister companies in order to achieve greater purchasing power and economies of scale.

2 October 2010, Shanghai, China. eHi Car Rental (www.1hai.cn, “eHi”), signed a definitive investment agreement valued at US$70 million today with a consortium including Goldman Sachs, as the lead investor, and all of eHi’s existing shareholders Qiming Venture Partners, CDH Ventures, Ignition Capital and JAFCO Asia.

Ignition Capital invests in Spoken Communications. 15 December 2010, Bellevue, Washington. – Spoken Communications, the leading provider of proprietary speech recognition technologies for call centers and virtual call center systems, today announced that it has received a strategic investment of $4.0 million from Ignition Growth Capital, LLC. The funds will be used to expand Spoken’s large-scale virtual call center implementations. As a company delivering hosted Avaya ACD and Conversational IVR solutions, the funding will enable Spoken to provide additional hosted capacity for call centers seeking to upgrade to virtual and work-from-home models.

30 October 2009. PaxVax initiated its first clinical trial of its new oral vaccine platform for a new vaccine against H5N1 or Bird Flu. The Company’s Bird Flu vaccine is unusual and novel in that it is an oral capsule as opposed to a liquid injection. The Company is now enrolling volunteer subjects in a randomized, double‐blind, placebo controlled safety trial at four sites in the United States. The Company’s vaccine vector is a live, replicating strain of adenovirus which has been genetically engineered to express the hemagglutinin antigen gene from the inflenza strain (A/Vietnam/1194/2004). The trial is designed to assess safety in approximately 100 subjects and to measure humoral or antibody, cellular and mucosal immunity under various dose regimens.
